The right headlight has been sweating for a long time. What to do? Correctly... replace the glass. Let's go...
We remove the headlight, unscrew all unnecessary parts from it, and take off the clips from the glass.
We put it in a box and make several holes in the box for a hair dryer.
We heat it up by moving the hair dryer around different holes until the old sealant starts to melt.
We peel off the glass.
And we see that the reflector has become completely non-reflective. It's cloudy and peeling.
There are three options... assemble as is, buy other ones (new ones aren't available, a needle in a haystack isn't what we need), or chrome it.
I chose the third option. I detached the reflector. Found where they chrome things, did it quite well (2000 rubles for one reflector). Ordered gray butyl sealant-sausage along with that for 600 rubles.
For a week I was cleaning off the old sealant and only towards the end realized... gasoline dissolves it well. Just needed to hold the headlight bodies in gasoline for a while.
The inner part of the headlight body, due to heating from the bulb and time, started to disintegrate as well. Cleaned it with a grinder, polished it, but the color is uneven.
Painted the inside of the headlight with gray thermal paint.
Inserted and secured the reflector.
Laid fresh sealant in the groove, make sure the joint is at the bottom, heated up the joint so there wouldn't be a gap.
Placed the glass and heated it while pressing it against the groove with the sealant until the clips snapped into place.
That's pretty much all.
Of course, I did both headlights, otherwise they would look very different.
Good luck to everyone...until next posts...
