Checked the purchased power steering pump.
Something viscous and soft at the bottom of the tank, but it's not visible through the filler neck. I was about to clean these deposits from the bottom with a screwdriver when I realized that it was a clogged filter mesh. The oil is continuously filtered before returning to the pump.
Had to flare out the tank to clean the mesh.
