Firstly, they differ from beam suspension (dependent) shock absorbers.

Secondly, they have an incredibly long stroke — about 230 mm. This is a rare figure in today's era of plastic cars.

literally they arrived - Kayaba, packaging original Toyota, full length is 67 cm., fully compressed is 41 cm. Number - 48531-22550

Fourthly, a commonly mentioned suitable alternative is KYB 343042. To view ALL dimensions of this shock absorber, follow the link (very useful link!) and figure out the numbers slightly.

Fifthly, personally I installed Tokico E2321 (this exact number) at the back

— and they work excellently with such a giant rebound travel like the original ones. Praise be, you can still buy them.

P.S. 5/8″ is about 16 mm.

UPD:

fits Tokico E2321. Length is almost 70 cm.

KYB 343039 does not fit well, too short. It sits very low. Recommended 343042.
