So, my car has damaged roof moldings (apparently they were installed by mounting a trunk on the roof or with ropes during evacuation—I'm leaning more towards the first option).

I have wind deflectors in stock that could cover this flaw since they mount over those exact moldings. But here's the catch—there are no brackets, and I've got no idea what they would look like. On Drive photos, everyone else has different wind deflectors than mine. And so one rainy day, I decided to DIY them.
Initially, I wanted to attach them with brackets to the damaged moldings (I even made and attached some), but found out that they can be easily removed by hand—add a wind deflector on top, and they might fly off into bushes or worse, hit another car on the road.
In the end, I removed the sealing rubber strip and unscrewed the mounting metal piece (hereafter referred to as 'metal bit') for these very strips (it runs along the entire perimeter of the windows).
