Those of us who own a coupe body face the problem of an extremely worn rubber seal between the side windows.
This seal is attached to the rear side window, and when lowered together with it, moves down.
This part is visible, and its old appearance does not add attractiveness to the original frameless windows (doors) of the hardtop.
In the original version, this is a fabric-reinforced rubber strip that fits over a steel profile, which in turn is attached to the window.
The predictable failure when ordering it from suppliers also does not inspire optimism in us.
So what should we do?
These seals can still be bought

As seen from the description, it's an analogous part for Celica (also of venerable age :)
You need to remove your original part (pull it down) from the steel guide and put on the newly purchased one.
Let me note right away that when fully fitted, it does not reach the top of the window by 2-2.5 cm.
Here is how it will look:

From my experience - a very suitable replacement!
P.S. By the way, if during work the steel part detaches from the glass - don't worry; just reattach it with clear polyurethane glue (e.g., 'Moment').
Similarly, analogous seals from Toyota ED or Cedric 30 may fit.
