It's annoying when at the highest speed setting of the windshield wipers during rain, it starts hitting alternately the frame and the plastic cowl! It doesn't respond to adjustment; we opened up the plastic and saw that the link rod bushings are worn out with excessive free play inside the rods, causing the banging.
It was decided to get a repair kit for VAZ
Need to do some grinding on it and then put it back in place, packed it with grease, everything went on like it's supposed to!
Everything is working fine, but after a year there was slight wear inside the bushings; the rods were still tight. I didn't fix it though, just replaced them! I've had spare windscreen wipers and linkage lying around for a couple of months now, so anyone interested can get a set with the motor and driver's side arm for symbolic money.
