Limousine Variant
Author — Pim25

In the distant year of 1978, the Phaeton Coach Corporation was producing extended limo versions of the Cressida based on two variants – increasing the wheelbase by either 24 inches (slightly over 60 cm) or 36 inches (approximately 90 cm).

Both limousine versions, as reported, featured a console spanning the width of the interior with crystal decanters and glasses, an ice maker, a color TV, separate rear air conditioning, and quadraphonic audio for passengers.

Externally, aside from length, the car was distinguished by a forward-projected radiator grille, unusual headlamps, combined paint schemes, a roof covered in 'leather', and so-called 'opera lamps' — vertical side lights on the rear pillars.

The rear window was reduced to limousine format. Wheel rims had chrome spokes.

The propeller shaft was lengthened, reinforced springs and shock absorbers were installed in the rear suspension.
Here is a photo of an actual surviving specimen:

At the back, there's a 'limo wing' mounted on the trunk lid:

The engine remained unchanged – the fuel-injected 4M-E. An additional washer fluid reservoir was installed:

Here is a small video clip in motion:
Limousines were also made from younger models
