Chapter 2
Preparing nodes and aggregates, as well as thinking about adjacent replacements and repairs.
Note - it's not a fact that all these parts will fit my Cross when I swap. But I think depending on the conditions of the installed engine and your car, certain units may need to be replaced. With stock 1G (default) everything in all systems needs to work perfectly, and with a 200-horsepower 1JZ even more so. The plus is that you can take off a new motor without much hassle, give it a spin, tweak it and bring it into excellent condition. Therefore...
Since any remanufactured engine requires attention during installation, we must evaluate its condition carefully.
The valve cover, timing belt - this area needs special attention. Only original parts here with no compromises.
11213-46030 and 11214-46011 valve cover gaskets
90904-80006 oil filler cap gasket
6 liters of motor oil 0-5-10-15W30 - a little more than needed, let the leftovers go to seals and assembly parts. Like adding butter to porridge...
11381-46010 main seal
90311-46001 front seal
90311-40020 2-seals and camshaft
11328-46021 timing belt cover gasket
96741-19005 oil dipstick gasket
13568-49025 timing belt
13505-46020 timing belt tensioner
13540-46012 timing belt idler pulley
90913-02088 and 90913-02090 12-piece oil seals (if needed, for disassembly - desoldering tool)
90915-20001 or its equivalent - oil filter
90430-12031 and 90341-12026 pan gasket and plug

Cooling System
90916-03093 thermostat (if necessary) and 16325-62010 thermostat gasket
16401-72090 radiator cap
16100-49865 and 16124-46070 water pump and its gasket

Accessories
This belt should be able to withstand 100,000 km distance, so it is also recommended to use original parts 90916-02310

Intake-Exhaust
17173-46020 - exhaust manifold
17177-46060 and 17179-46040 - exhaust manifold
17114-46010 - triangle on the throttle body
90917-06061-2 pcs., 90917-06043,909706072,090917-06078-2 pcs. - these are exhaust pipe gaskets according to the manual. It seems that nothing better can be suggested. Despite the fact that the exhaust after the swap is only custom-made, there is no alternative to these washers. Everything fits perfectly on the factory flanges and never leaks (for potato enthusiasts who like to drive in villages without mufflers, I recommend not installing them at all...)

Ignition
Only original high-performance spark plugs 90919-01196
Starting system
It will be useful to look inside the starter and check brushes 28140-70020 (brush unit), contacts-flats28226-64200,28226-64200, armature 28235-55020 and its spring 28165-76070 .

Fuel system
The pump should be healthy and not burnt. Please note that the pumps for 1G and 1JZ engines are almost identical (I won't even mention the Fordos from Bosch and Siemens), so it's best to choose the original one.

Front suspension, brakes, and steering.
Since you're removing the subframe, perhaps it would be wise to service the lower struts, levers, stabilizer and its links? For this purpose, get

Bodywork –
Depending on the condition of the crossmember, wings and longitudinal members – repair work for restoration is carried out. Usually rust and previous repairs after accidents prompt additional work. For this, anti-corrosion compositions, good two-component primers and paint are required. If the repair is in hidden areas behind fenders or bumpers – any color will do, but if it's under the hood, stock (or some appealing) color should be considered. Prepare cleaning agents beforehand. Note that usual fluids used for car washes won't suffice here; reactive solutions based on toluene or acetone are needed instead. Also required is a lot of rags and 3M Scotch-Brite pads (excellent for removing hardened contaminants and matting old paint for further actions). Why all this? Firstly, it's aesthetically pleasing and proper. Secondly, a relatively clean engine bay makes diagnostics easier.
In summary: tools, materials, spares etc. should be around the car at hand to avoid chaos and frantic searches for parts.
