Something arrived :)

Decided to disassemble the timing belt system. The hardest part was loosening the crankshaft pulley bolt)) I did everything on my own, immobilized the flywheel, attached a long lever to the 22mm socket, straddled the engine and started pressing with all my strength)) Fortunately, the bolt came loose) Then the problem of compressing the pulley arose. After rummaging around in the garage — I found an excellent tool that helped me remove everything without any issues))

Inspecting the timing belt system showed that it's almost new, with minimal mileage. On the engine cover, it was written that the belt was changed at 71k km, meaning since then the engine has covered no more than about 20k km, so its total mileage does not exceed 90k km, I think)) This is reassuring because on my model, the engine has a 98k km mileage and it's in perfect condition) Hope everything will be fine here as well. Next, I wanted to change the belt but realized that if I put it on now, I won't be able to remove the water pump later. By the way, I'll also replace this with a complete unit from a 1JZ-GTE VVTI engine. So for now, I haven't touched the timing system and started removing the air compressor instead)) The operation wasn't complicated.

Also spent some time polishing the tensioner of the serpentine belt. By the way, the belt will also be new but shorter.

Then I decided to remove the turbine hoses to access the water pump, and in the end removed the entire assembly which will be polished to a mirror finish. Also checked the turbines; there is some play, but hopefully within acceptable limits)) Everything else is pretty clean as it should be.

Here's what the engine looks like without the hoses.

Slowly continuing))) Loosening the tensioner of the timing belt system, removing the pulley) (the camshafts and crankshaft need to be set according to markings))) and then taking off the belt. Next is disassembling the old water pump. It's quite heavy)) The new one hasn't arrived yet so I've been polishing hoses in the meantime)) Also faced issues with garages! Everyone plans to demolish them and build an ANTI-people garage))) Constantly feeling like walking on eggshells! Don't know what to do if we end up without a workshop! But we'll find solutions and continue the project no matter what!
